Through the devastation of an all-too recent Ragnarök, human kind has picked themselves up from the remnants of civilization to rebuild society as it once was, but not without bitter cost: humanity has lost its ability to procreate and the human population is slowly and ever-surely declining. To remedy the dwindling numbers of able-bodies for war, scientists have created bio-androids, the "replicants", to battle for the destruction that they themselves can no longer afford. Soon after the Asian Wars, the scientists turned their focus to remedy the reproduction crisis. Their answer came in the form of the "halfs", genetically born beings created through the genetics of both humans and beast. In turn, the world's roots have been skewed and gangs of halfs, replicants, and humans have taken to the streets in a brutal offensive against each other. Schisms have turned out of prejudice and fear: the replicants, monsters, the halfs, looked down upon, and the humans struggling in their declining numbers. To most, there is comfort in numbers--it's either band together or die--but with science going further in their strive to reach genetic 'perfection' through prototypes only known as angeloids and deviloids, who knows what threat looms in the future?
From war comes hate. From hate comes destruction. From destruction comes that last piece of hope.
And sometimes, it just kills to love. |
