| | Fox Reznik."Nothing in this world is given for free." Fox took a sip of the water handed to him, the fact that it was warm was a bit unusual but at least it was safe and he would be free from whatever infection it would cause him. Drinking water straight from rivers and other sources wasn’t exactly smart but as mentioned he had no choice. “Thank you.” He spoke after having swallowed down his third sip of the liquid. Fox never had a shortage of water, so he has never in the danger of dehydrating the only thing he had experienced full force was starvation; it had admittedly been worse when he was a child, a street urchin carving out a living for himself in Liverpool’s Riverside area. Raven had helped him the best she could, indeed Fox was pretty certain that if he somehow had been born without a daemon like Raven or without a daemon at all, he’d very likely be dead.
He put his glass of water down on the table as he was offered the now finished soup, giving the meal a taste a smile soon came on his face. “You’re a good cook.” He commented, indeed the soup was good, better than anything he have had in God knows how long.

Damien thought, By having no ties to anyone, I can someday leave this hell-hole behind and travel the world. His eyes glazed over as he thought of the adventures he might have. Now all he had to do was try to turn those dreams into reality. [/ul]

| | Fox Reznik."Nothing in this world is given for free." Fox was mostly occupied with eating the soup he had been offered, Raven looking at him with a tilted head wondering why her master was as absorbed in the food as most of the time he didn’t care much for it as he never had much of it anyways. But this soup was good, glancing over to his host as he spoke saying how he didn’t have much of a choice in the matter of knowing how to cook a meal. The vagabond soon enough finished his meal, noticing that Damien seemed a bit spaced out lost in thought more likely. “My life may seem like fun, but there are times I wish I had a place to come back to. In a small way I envy you.” Fox spoke, there had been many times he wish he had actually had four walls and roof somewhere to call home even if he had accepted the fact that the earth was his bed and the sky his roof, the romantic image it often conjured were quickly shattered by the grim realities of such a life on the road entailed.
The thief had all the freedom in the world, no chains held him down and they would as long as he stayed one step ahead of the law, and never stayed in one place for too long. Fox had spent time in a prison once, and it was a place he didn’t want to come back to even if it was four walls and a roof, ironically, but it never had the same feeling as home would. The life on the road however rarely got lonely as he had Raven to keep him company, but some argue that isolating yourself with your daemon as your only companion was not good for the soul. But who would give up a home, a stable job, whatever little income they had to go on an adventure with a vagabond and criminal?

| | Fox Reznik."Nothing in this world is given for free." A small smile crossed the vagabond’s face hearing Damien’s words on how it would be exciting. That of course was true; Fox was rarely stricken by boredom sometimes he wasn’t even allowed boredom the smile faded slightly as the other said he didn’t consider this place a home. His blank face contorting into a frown hearing the other’s story, it rare for Fox to show much pity but in Damien’s case he would. Silence settled over the room as his host had returned to his soup, moss green eyes trailed around the room before falling onto the floor. “The first step is always the most difficult.” He eventually uttered gaze flickering to Damien, “If you want to escape from memories or a troubled past, the open road is of good consolation.” Said the vagabond, brushing some of his unkempt blond hair out of his face, Fox had been almost all over England, siezing the oppertunity once he became old enough to take the hardships of trekking from town to town. The furthest north he had gone so far was to the easternmost point of Hadrian’s Wall, presiding over the Scottish lowlands, though his most cherished memory had been the night of the spring equinox spent in the shadows of Stonehenge, all alone with his thoughts just watching the stars.

| | Fox Reznik."Nothing in this world is given for free." Fox leaned back in the chair as the question came, asking how he had done it, taken the first step and left everything behind. The vagabond fell silent at first slipping into a moment of thought brows knitting as he tried to recollect some reasoning to best answer this inquiry, “Well,” Fox began slowly, his gaze focusing on the floor, “There wasn’t really much I left behind in the first place. At least it wasn’t anything I’d miss.” His moss green gaze flickered to Damien, meeting the other’s gaze, “A gutter, and the smell of filth and what worse isn’t really something anyone would hesitate leaving behind given the chance.” He exhaled; rubbing a hand at the back of his neck, living on the harbor side of Liverpool meant that it was often cold, wet and windy. “I reasoned that there had to be somewhere out there beyond the countless horizons, which was better than were I was stuck. Better than the ditch in which I slept.” He mused while his gaze broke from the other man.
“So one day I simply gathered up what little belongings I had and hit the road going south-east. Towards London.” He explained, “Why I picked London of all places I don’t know, I didn’t think its crowded atmosphere would be any better than the place I had left.” He paused taking a sip of water, “But the road was long, it took me several weeks mostly because I wasn’t in a hurry. Along the way I saw and heard things; some of them confirmed my belief that what lay beyond was better, yet other things shattered my childlike notions like glass.” He chuckled to himself, apparently amused by his own naivety. “But at the core of it all; I do what I do because I love the journey itself and not the destination, which is what keeps me going. And the fact some of my ways of thinking does not confirm with the society around me, I’ve forgotten how many times I’ve been chased out of a village at the end of a pitchfork, or with threats of jail time or even death.” He added with a light-hearted smile, as if those cruelties and sometimes obvious injustices didn’t bother him much, indeed it didn’t.

| | Fox Reznik."Nothing in this world is given for free." Fox had picked up Raven, moving the sleeping magpie from the arms rest of the chair and into his lap, a more comfortable place for her. Tracing a finger softly across the sleeping birds back, she may look plain and exceptionally dull compared to the more colourful birds but that was only to the untrained eye, in the right light her feathers would shine with all the colours of the rainbow, though a deep teal/blue was the most prominent. Fox gaze broke from the sleeping daemon and shifted to Damien hearing the other speak up; the vagabond blinked registering the question. “That would be lovely.” He answered not sure what else to say, though Fox wondered what Damien’s view on stealing was or better yet how high the guy’s conscience lay, as being a vagabond wasn’t a profession one could make living from, rather it was a way of life; Fox’s actual profession was that of a thief, albeit a freelance thief but he was still good at it. He stole what he needed at a given time; Fox didn’t judge an objects value on its price tag but rather what use it would have for him. Most of the time however he filched food, rather than valuables and he would pick pocket a few coins here and there from people who had enough of the stuff already to notice a few lowly shilling gone missing.

| | Fox Reznik."Nothing in this world is given for free." A faint smile graced across Fox’s face as his gaze lingered on the other, he could notice a hint of excitement in Damien; the kind of excitement one gets when you’ve been waiting for something for so long and finally the day comes. “It would be nice with a bed, but if I don’t take a bath before sleeping in it, doubt anyone else would wanna use it after me.” Fox wasn’t speaking of snobs or other such people with a holier-than-thou attitude, just the truth that if he slept in a bed in his state of cleanliness the bed would likely be full of dirt and if not lice, but not that Fox had those little buggers. “Any particular place you wanna go, some sight you’ve wanted to see but never could?” Fox was asking Damien if he had a destination in mind, not that it mattered it was just nice to have a goal mulling in the back of the mind, as it is dangerous to step out of the door and not pay attention to were you put your feet because then there is no telling where you will end up. The thief then rose from the chair, placing the sleeping Raven gently back down in the seat, before he picked up the glass and the empty soup bowl carrying them over to the kitchen, placing them both in the on the counter were other used utensils had already been gathered.

| | Fox Reznik."Nothing in this world is given for free." Returning to the sitting room having placed his used utensils on the counter a brief smile flickered over his face. “I think I’ll pass then, since there is no immediate need.” He spoke, of course speaking about taking a bath, he was going to get dirty anyways and there was really no one he was getting clean for so there was really no point. Fox quelled a half-laugh at Damien’s quote which sounded like something out of a children’s book, “Well that’s a good strategy too I follow that most of the time but I also have a destination mulling in the back of the head should times get tough.” He picked up the sleeping magpie from the chair cradling her in his arms as not to wake her; she was a light sleeper, pretty much like himself.
“But perhaps we should retire then, so we can get up early to tomorrow and set off.” Fox suggested as he was certain Damien was eager to get out of this place, and Fox had to admit he too was restless to get back on the road.
